THERE was a worry that Everton would take their eye off their League form after reaching Wembley, but our performance against Stoke dispelled any doubts.
While Stoke's goal made things difficult for a little while, it was a comfortable victory.

AFTER an average middle of the year, 2008 didn't end too badly for us, with two more excellent performances, two more clean sheets, and two more wins.
Sunderland admittedly were one of the poorest teams we have faced this season, but the big win will keep that confidence going, especially in Arteta who has been back to his best recently, but improved even further after his two goals on Sunday.
The introduction of Dan Gosling has been a surprising positive too.
Lee Molton, St Helens
WHO needs millions of pounds and strikers when you have got an Australian dynamo?
The Blues showed great spirit to win in Manchester on Saturday and keep in the hunt for a European spot. Arteta was sparkling with Cahill working hard to make the millionaires look like paupers.
As it is Christmas, it's time to give out a few presents. For Bill Kenwright: Any spare change so he can get a new striker for Moyes in January. David Moyes: Any fit striker with two legs. Marouane Fellaini: A new hair-cut.
The New Year brings a few wishes too: Evertonians: To win the FA Cup. James Vaughan: To have an injury-free spell. Tony Hibbert: A goal, will he ever score?
Here's to a great Christmas for the Blues and a Happy 2009. Merry Christmas Everton!
Mike Williamson, Chester
LET'S be honest - we were lucky to get three points on Saturday and most Blues left the ground feeling a strange mixture of relief and bewilderment. The performance was flat and devoid of inspiration. Where was the team that played with such spirit in the second half against United?
A win is still a win though and the points are welcome. One major positive this season has been the form of Jagielka, who was again outstanding on Saturday.
Howard was also back to his old self but the enigma that is Mikel Arteta needs to be addressed by Moyes urgently. We cannot carry anybody this season, whatever their past glories, and he is simply a shadow of the player who lit up Goodison a few seasons ago.
His body language is very negative and if he wants to return to Spain, we need to accept it and get the most we can for him.
Let's push on to get points on the board.
Cole Fraser, Litherland
LAST night's performance was shambolic, to say the least, especially in the first half where we didn't really seem to turn up.
Joleon Lescott has looked a shadow of his usual self during the last couple of games, and if we are to achieve what we did last year we need him back to his best.
Something else that must change is the non-existent roles that Fellaini and Castillo seem to be in. Our new midfield enforcements seem to float around in no man's land, rather than play football, which leaves us open and vulnerable to counter attacks.
