LEWIS CODLING fired a double with Luke Powell also on target as Everton under-18s continued their fine recent run with a 3-0 victory at Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

Neil Dewsnip's side are now on a five-game unbeaten run in the FA Premier Academy League, which includes four victories.

The latest success was particularly impressive as, despite featuring five schoolboys, they proved much too strong for the home side.

Codling opened the scoring after 15 minutes from the penalty spot after Powell had been brought down in the area.

CONOR McALENY'S first-half goal was enough to give Everton under-18s a 1-0 victory at Leeds United on Saturday.

The win extended Neil Dewsnip's side's unbeaten run in the FA Premier Academy League to four matches.

Despite a young line-up featuring several schoolboys players with Jordan Barrow, Tom Donaghan and Adam Cummins making their debuts, Everton were good value for their win.

The winning goal came on 25 minutes as McAleny tapped home from close range following a quick free-kick by Tom McCready and a good cross from Karl Sheppard.

DESPITE taking the lead through Karl Shepphard, Everton under-18s had to settle for a point following a 1-1 draw with Stoke City at Finch Farm on Saturday.

With very windy conditions playing quality football was difficult. With the wind behind their backs in the first half Neil Dewsnip's side pressed forward but found the Potters' keeper in fine form.

They eventually made the breakthrough on the half-hour mark. A good move started by Aristote Nsiala ended with a cross from Adam Forshaw being powerfully headed home by Sheppard.

EVERTON under-18s bounced back following back-to-back defeats with an excellent 3-1 victory at Blackburn Rovers.

Goals from Adam Forshaw, Luke Powell and Conor McAleny gave Neil Dewsnip's side a deserved three points in the FA Premier Academy League.

Following defeats to Manchester City and West Bromwich Albion, Everton came out in determined fashion and took the lead after just three minutes.

The home goalkeeper miskicked a clearance straight to 17-year-old midfiedler Forshaw, who fired it superbly into the net.

INEXPERIENCE proved costly again as Everton under-18s suffered another defeat as they lost 4-1 at West Bromwich Albion in the FA Premier Academy League on Saturday.

Neil Dewsnip's side has had to perform without several established players due to reserve team fixtures in recent weeks. The second string has a match against Columbus Crew on Sunday, meaning Everton had only 13 players in their squad. They performed well, but lost 3-1 to north west section leaders Manchester City last week, and again this week a slow start gave them a mountain to climb in the Midlands.

Some costly errors saw Everton 2-0 down in the first 20 minutes. Keeper Lars Stubhaug misjudged a bouncing ball outside his area as he tried to head clear for the first and then defender Jake Bidwell was caught in possession on the halfway line to let the Albion striker to run through and add a second.

EVERTON under-18s went down to a 3-1 defeat against leaders Manchester City at Finch Farm on Saturday.

Despite an encouraging display from Neil Dewsnip's side, FA Premier Academy League north west section leaders proved too strong.

City almost went ahead after five minutes but Everton goalkeeper Adam Davies superbly saved a penalty. Five minutes later the visitors did score and on 20 minutes City doubled their advantage.

Everton continued to battle to get back in the match and on the half-hour reduced the arrears with a great free-kick by midfielder Nathan Craig.

GOALS from Luke Powell and James McCarten in either half helped Everton under-18s bounce back from their FA Youth Cup exit on Saturday.

Neil Dewsnip's side put their shoot-out disappointment against Norwich City in the cup behind them with a 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Finch Farm on Saturday.

Everton, though, didn't start too well and had goalkeeper Adam Davies to thank for keeping them level. They fell behind following a Wolves free-kick five minutes before the break. But as half-time approached Everton equalised. Powell fired in after a neat turn.

Everton grew in confidence and had plenty of chances to take the lead with Conor McAleny hitting the bar.

FOLLOWING their agonising FA Youth Cup shoot-out defeat by Norwich City last week Everton under-18s will be keen to get back on track this weekend.

Neil Dewsnip's side lost 3-1 in the shoot-out after a 1-1 extra-time draw on Thursday, but they now return to concentrate on the FA Premier Academy League when they face Wolverhampton at Finch Farm this Saturday (11am).

Everton notched a superb 3-2 victory over neighbours Liverpool in the derby clash in their last league outing and Dewsnip will be hoping for more of the same this weekend to banish any post Youth Cup blues.

Dewsnip hopes his side can gain the right experience despite their defeat.

EVERTON cruelly went out of the FA Youth Cup last night after suffering penalty shoot-out heartbreak against Norwich City in the fifth round at the Stobart Stadium in Widnes.

Visiting keeper Declan Rudd saved three of Everton's spot-kicks as the Canaries won the shoot-out 3-1.

After a goalless 90 minutes both sides traded blows in extra-time, with Lee McArdle's superb free-kick being cancelled out by Tom Adeyemi's equaliser.

Then in the shoot-out despite Tom McCready scoring Everton's first kick, Rudd saved from Jake Bidwell, Shane Duffy and Jose Baxter.

Neil Dewsnip's side suffered a blow before kick-off as left-winger Nathan Craig, who had scored in the 3-2 derby victory over Liverpool at the weekend, was injured in the warm-up and had to be replaced by Bidwell.

FRESH from a weekend derby victory Everton Youth team look to progress to the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup for the first time in six years when they take on Norwich City tonight.

Neil Dewsnip's side will be in buoyant mood going into tonight's fifth-round clash and will be aiming to set up a last-eight tie at Manchester City, who beat Newcastle United 4-2 last night.

Although the Everton youngsters would have preferred another chance of playing on Goodison this evening, they will be determined to make Widnes's Stobart Stadium a home from home.
