"So it's Rorschach and Prozac and everything is groovy."

After we lost three of our opening four league games you could understand the frustration amongst the fans. We were playing poorly and, even worse, the much-lauded spirit of our lads seemed to be departing - showcased in full during our collapse to Fulham. The forums were a buzz with this not only being the final throws of our side, but the end of our manager.

Five wins on the spin later and do you think the mood of most internet whingers has lightened? Don't be silly; the same dithering Davey rhetoric is kicked about; Osman and Hibbert are continuing lamented; new signing Bilyaletdinov isn't good enough; our standard of football slammed and the tactics abused. Well, ok, perhaps it has slightly calmed as some of the bile spitters have withdrawn; probably just working on the next venomous retort when we have a bad result (and there will always be bad results).

I'm seriously considering the mental state of some of the people who continue to moan about the position of Everton FC. How can you call Moyes tactically naïve when he has, more often than not, produced the goods? Seriously, if our game planning is so poor then over the last two seasons there are 15 other clubs who need to take good long looks at themselves (relatively Moyes is really a tactical genius). Can people really not see our shift to a more expansive style of football; compare just how far forward our full-backs now push up than they did five or even two years ago.

Now more than ever the majority of teams come to Goodison with a view to getting players behind the ball and trying to pick us off with the odd counter-attack - perversely, something we used to be masters at. Other clubs and supporters envy our position, they would love to be us, just as we want to be part of the Sky-four.

So people take some happy pills, go do some therapy and try to look on the bright side for once.

Oh and the quote above is from the excellent Nick Cave.

Agree with every word. It's a relief to know there are some positive Blues around. Reading sites like Toffeeweb (and there's some good stuff there) where the "bile spitters" tend to congregate can depress the hell out of you sometimes.

This man Moyes is doing a fantastic job under very difficult circumstances yet the moaners still whinge on.

Most of the people spouting off on forums are idiots anyways. They think the NSNO motto means we should win the league every year, regardless of the reality of contemporary football where money has such a pivotal influence. We'll win the UEFA cup this season and Bilyaletdinov will be a world class winger, part ronaldo part beckham - mark my words.

My eyes aint red and my hair aint blue its more like the other way around.

Totally agree with this article. Delighted with the last few wins. The last one in very difficult circumstances. It was great to see Tony Hibbert get man of the match on Thurstay. He needs a break from teh whingers.

Cheers, people. It is nice to know that I`m not the only one who likes to think a little more positively.

I do think the fan-sites have an important part to play and criticism is needed. However, I just feel a few people have taken the moans too far.

And, it is always nice to know that David Moyes is a Nick Cave fan too ;p

Absolutely spot on.

I took the 6-1 defeat on the chin.
I wouldn't of if there weren't reasons for it, but there were. And the fightback since has been of far greater importance.

Moyes has brought through key young prospects. Rodwell for instance is a key part of our future - thanks to Moyes.

We have the jigsaw pieces in place, just the last one, a greater ground capcity/revenue will finalise the picture.

Then on our own feet we can take on anyone anywhere including Manchester United's of this world (with 76000 size stadia).

Everton to pre-Moyes are unrecognisable for the better. Also we're stronger than last year thanks to the signings and when the boys come back.
I predict we won't falter at the last hurdle this year all thanks to Moyes spending so well.
I can see the progress. Rodwell is an illustration of how Moyes wants us to play.

Moyes doesn't play "hoof ball" he plays using width(wingers) but needs players like Rodwell to do it.
We're closer now to the 1984 side, and Everton's heritage than any time in the last 20 years.
Thanks to Moyes. And he's only just started! We will only get stronger this season....

Try the best.. Even though we lose this time, we might win next time. Don’t have to worry too much or envy others as we try to improve ourselves continuously.
