Moyes-Doctrine: Missing "the Kyles" shows Moyes will not be moved

By Mark Reid on Jul 23, 09 07:30 PM in Fans

The disappointment yes, and related aftermath of Everton FC missing out on Kyle Naughton this week in less than desirable circumstances has led to the usual pre-season complaints amongst the supporters.
What does need to be kept in mind is a look at the bigger picture. Look at what David Moyes is trying to achieve in the transfer market this summer. Here some of the statements within the fanbase certainly do need to be addressed.

Disappointment - yes, that a player Kyle Naughton chose money over football.

Any sane and logical individual would know that going to a club (Tottenham Hotspur) with more than several players for the same position (not just one or two) - and the fact that NONE of those players has particularly impressed there, would not fill a player with confidence that his career would go anywhere but backward fast. Certainly not at a club like Tottenham Hotspur who can spend money like water and struggle like last season.
Further to this is the activity of Sheffield United and Tottenham Hotspur post accepting - officially - an Everton bid for the player.
Harry Redknapp, a man who has complained regarding police investigations for corruption in football previously, seemingly coming in and literally sabotaging Everton's bid. How did Mr Redknapp do this? By what means can the man come in and demolish a done deal? Every question only provokes more questions on Mr Harry Redknapp's conduct. Whiter than Spurs white? Lets look at the last 10 days events.

Sheffield United have hardly behaved ethically in all this either. Implied terms - were with Everton. Announced on Sheffield United's website for the world to see.
Then the club that sued West Ham United over the Tevez affair then acts in an enormously unethical fashion.

Hypocrisy knows no bounds - at Sheffield United or Tottenham Hotspur.

Well Mr Redknapp. You may have won this one but we'll see what happens when Spurs meet the Pride of Merseyside next time.
Kyle Naughton will regret his decision. No more needs to be said. Everton do things under their manager with abit of dignity after all...

We all have to remember. Kyle Naughton was merely one name in many that Moyes has been targeting and following.

We should also remember that if other clubs are going to use dirty tricks against us then we must become even more astute in our dealings with other clubs.
The School of Science is where footballers learn to be better.

The major attractors of players to Everton Football Club are David Moyes, Finch Farm's training facilities and our club culture - our supporters - "The Toffees".

Certain players are only ruled by money. We all know that players at Everton are paid amongst the best in the land. They will hardly be paupers after a career at Goodison. The ones what decide to go elsewhere - typically are more interested in money than football. If they want show and feed their greed, that's their prerogative.
It's not "buy at all costs" at Everton FC. It's better to have a talented and motivated team - then individuals that simply are here for a pay cheque.

Moyes can attract the prodigies of Europe, the UK and integrate them with the local talent.

Even if it does happen late in the window - we can and will strengthen.

On the matter of alternative ownership; in light of recent rumours.

Yes Everton needs more financial resources to fight off our dirty trick employing rivals. To make David Moyes job easier.
However any transition of power to a new investor needs to be orderly and needs to ensure that the club does not go the way of the Kopites. We don't want debts that the club can't service.
Additionally David Moyes position should be the first thing ensured in any deal, if not re-enforced under no circumstances should the man who has transformed Everton ever be put under threat. At Everton we are stronger because our manager has complete control over team affairs, and that should remain.
Any new owner needs to embrace the Moyes-Doctrine. Its the plan for success at Everton Football Club, they might bring finances but David Moyes is the man who won't spend it all on a high turnover of players.

He'll build Everton for the long term. Just like he's doing now. For this reason above all others, missing out on Kyle Naughton should make Evertonians even more determined that we will be the team to smash the Sky4 this season.

kyle who ? everton and evertonians will like that ol' river mersey 'just keep rollin along'. any player rooney, owen, lescott, naughton, whoever who doesn't want to play for us (and it is our show - the fans- not the board)isn't worth the proverbial carrot. i mean, god bless him, he doesn't look the brightest star in the firmament. in moyes we trust. god bless every evertonian. coyb !!!!

So kyle has decided to go to the bright lights of london and join spurs. If he thinks he will blossom better under harry redknapp well more fool him. At everton he would of had first team football, and he would of devolped a lot quicker under moyes. At spurs he may enjoy a bigger wage packet, and he may enjoy the bright lights, but one thing is for sure it wont make him a better player. Just look at chimbonda and hutton for example, right backs also brought in for big money only to be shunted to one side for a new flavour of the month. Harry redknapp doesnt come close to david moyes. You will never hear harrys name being mentioned when the big clubs are looking for a manager. Hes nothing but a fraud who probably settled this deal with a backhand or two
