Who needs luck?
There have been times in the past when Lady Luck has been blamed for Everton's poor cup runs. Justifiably so when draws in the past have thrown up Chelsea and Arsenal. However this season we have done things the hard way and still managed to succeed.
With eight goals and four penalties, each from a different goal scorer, seeing us through to Wembley, this cup run has well and truly been a team effort.
From the potential banana skin third round trip to Macclesfield to facing three of the sides in the top five to get to the final, we've faced every road block on the route to Wembley and blasted our way through it.
In fact with every piece of bad luck and misfortune thrown in our direction we seem to come back stronger. Yak and Arteta out for the season and Victor out leaving King Louis as the only fit centre forward that isn't cup tied have only had the effect of spurring us on.
Even after having got to the semi final, we're still dealt the blow of being handed Old Mother Riley as referee and if it wasn't for the media attention surrounding his appointment and some carefully chosen words from Moyes, who knows if we would have lost out on Sunday to a dodgy penalty.
Apart from a little bit of luck with that decision, the real reason we've got to the final has been gritty determination (and Howard's left foot).
When Cahill missed our first penalty, I'm sure I wasn't the only one who feared a replay of the disappointment against Fiorentina. But once again in this cup run we fought our way back with two successive saves swinging things in our favour.
The celebrations after Jags' penalty were fantastic and will live long in the memory.
It was an amazing day with fans singing the moment they set foot in Wembley Park Station to bumping into ex players in the ground and spotting a coach load of Everton legends in Warwick service station.
Luckily for the majority of fans that sang themselves hoarse, there's six weeks to get their voices back in time for the final.
We'll no doubt be the under dogs in May but, as this cup run has proved, that suits us best.
