David Moyes right to play Marouane Fellaini against Hull

WITH five wins and a draw in our last six games, you would expect chat among Evertonians to be buzzing with confidence ahead of the two Derbies.

However, there seemed to be only one topic of conversation after Saturday's game, namely the booking for Fellaini that denies us the services of probably our biggest threat.

It was always going to be a big risk with Fellaini against Hull.

If Moyes rested him, he'd have been fiercely criticised if we didn't win.

The choice Moyes made in playing him had the benefit of Fellaini helping secure the win, but sadly the inevitable booking.

You can't really blame Moyes for ensuring that our march to Europe continued.

In a week where manager's seem to be competing for who's got the strongest case of ADHD, it was refreshing to see Moyes show a touch of class post-match in admitting that our first goal was clearly offside.

Despite his protestations about the legitimacy of the first goal, Phil Brown can't hold too many complaints as there was never any danger this game was going to be anything other than a comfortable win.

For the second home game in succession, we were able to play in our comfort zone against opposition hell-bent on giving us the ball back at every opportunity.

As with every game since he moved into the middle, Arteta was able to dominate. Liverpool aren't going to be so eager to give us the ball in the next two games, so the forthcoming tests will really need Arteta to step up and prove he is the best little Spaniard we know.
