Another Derby, another set of insults from Rafa Benitez.

When is Rafa going to learn? The 'friendly derby' will never return at this rate.
Moyes knows to show repect to other managers, remaining humble in saying "We look after our business here, we do things with a bit of dignity at Everton." It's a pity Rafa had to ruin things again.
I obviously hope your team don't find that extra bit of creativity to break us down in the replay, but sort your own team out before having a go at ours please Mr Benetiez.
Perhaps Rafa should look closer to home and instead explain how one of the most expensively assembled squads in the world, at full strength and at home, failed twice in a week to beat a half strength Everton team. A team which in total cost about the same amount of money as Robbie Keane, who wasn't even good enough to make the Liverpool squad yesterday.
Oh to have the luxury of a ã20million pound man and not even needing him in the squad. At the moment Everton can only dream of having such money to spend on the team, never mind on one player.
We played to our strengths considering the players available, but yet again this is overlooked by a lot of the media. Our spirit and resilience is a class above the rest at the moment and long may it continue.
Sorry Rafa, maybe we didn't get the memo telling us to play into liverpool's hands. With Arteta and Screech returning to the team, bring on the replay!

Ok, i agree Rafa should stop slatting other managers off and start concentrating on his....However, if the blues wanna stop with their sickly chants which we've become used to, then that would help to.

And what about red references to elephants and special children. Then theres the spitting and punching.
But, really Benitez does lack class.
Maybe Rafa wouldn't feel the need to say such things if Everton put up a fight for once. You have been appauling against Liverpool this season (well, you defended well) but offered nothing else and got hammered both times last season.
Everton celebrated a 1-1 draw like you'd won the champions league. Aim higher and you might get more respect.
Poor, persecuted Everton.
No one likes them...
Everton do things with dignity - really? What a pity their fans don't follow suit. I'm a 62 yr old woman from a mixed family and remember the friendly derbies. On Sunday my daughter and I were treated to middle aged men with vein bulging necks screaming obscenities in our faces and spitting at us. My blue uncles would be turning in their graves at such vile behaviour
The atmosphere at both games thankfully wasn't as poisonous as predicted and supporters on both sides need to get a grip when it comes to the below-the-belt stuff.
It would help if the right example was set by the clubs themselves but unfortunately that hasn't happened here, instead a shameless attempt by an increasingly desperate man to deflect attention from his own shortcomings

I presume by that, you mean Moyes? Because if you mean Rafa, you can hardly say "His own Shortcomings" when silverwear speaks for itself - What silverwear have Everton won under Moyes? How is that man still in a job? He's won NOTHING. But as I said in my earlier post, if your biggest high of the season is a 1-1 draw with us, just goes to show how different the 2 clubs targets are per season.
Sorry to hear about what happened to you Norma, I'm sure we all know there are a minority among both sets of fans who take rivalry way too far.
I find it rather egotistical that Kopites think a 1-1 draw with them would be the highlight of our season. I mean come on, get over yourselves.
Aim higher and get more respect, Steve? Your manager is aiming high and I doubt there is anyone left who respects him. I think it'd be foolish of Everton to claim we are aiming to win the league next year. I always find that realism earns more respect than pipe dreams.
To Mark Reid... I am born and bred in Liverpool and I know first hand that it is certainly not 'newcomer Kopite' that is causing the problems. The new generation of bitter blueshites that are the ones causing the greif.
Raised by bitter blues who have for years lived in our shadows, bitter jealous blues who have to sit by and watch us buy the best players, win Champions Leagues, FA Cups, everything other than the premiership (for now) - while you celebrate a 1-1 draw like the highlight of your season. Scuffing around 8th position, and being dumped out of Europe every time you scuff your way into it.
What the hell are Liverpool fans have to be bitter about. You have NOTHING I would want, none of your players, history, manager - NOTHING.
You lot make out that we have a lot of 'outside Liverpool' support. So what? It goes to show that we're well supported. And by the way, I know many 'Southern' Blues as well.
Cath - spoken like a true bitter blue.
It's nothing to do with being egotistical - why did you celebrate so much on Monday then? You clebrated like you'd won some major tournament!!
The reason we are aiming high is, unlike yourselves, we have a realistic chance of winning major tournaments this season. Even the most blue of blues cannot honestly expect to win anything as each season begins? Why break the habbit of a lifetime, yet Liverpool are in with a shout every season. We stand of winning the premiership, champions league or the FA cup this season - not a pipedream - REALITY. What do you stand a chance of achieving? Oh yes, you held us twice at Anfield.
You sit on here talking about Benitez like you have the worlds greatest manager.
Can someone explain to me why Moyes is still in a job? How many other premiership managers have been given so much time and achieved absolutely NOTHING? The man has won nothing yet he's still employed? If you want to be classed as a big club, should't you starting pushing for some silverwear? When did you last come close to winning anything under the man who looks like he'd be more at home in Lord of the Rings?
Wow Steve, you are full of anger and bitterness. Whats that about? You are just one example of why the friendly derby has gone. Keep it up and watch you don't choke on that lemon!
Jo, is that the only comeback you have after everything I've said? I have no bitterness and no Anger - I have no need to, Everton are no threat at all to us.
I have never chanted sick songs to anyone and I have never been violent in any way to any Everton supporter so please dont try and deflect the blame from you bitter blues onto me.
Hubris and Narcissism.
Like Benitez, Steve seems to be suffering from it.
Heard it all before Steve. We must be some form of threat to your "self image". Or why are you on this Everton forum?
Logic?
Mark Reid seems to be suffering the same problem as Jo, avoiding everything I have said because you both know it's true.
Yes this was a link from a Liverpool board which I found rather amusing.
Keep backing Moyes in your quest for finishing 6th and then you can really 'live the dream'.
But one last note - do you not long for more? Is scuffing through season after season winning nothing enough for you?? Very sad.
Steve, you may never be violent but seem to call Evertonians "bitters" at every moment possible. You said to me "Spoken like a bitter blue" I'd like you to point out the bitterness please, I don't see it. I disagree that drawing against liverpool is the highlight of our season. I was happy with a draw given that you dominated the game but we defended fantastically in the second half. I can see why it'd be a low point in yours though seeing how you were at full strength and we were without a good few of our best players. We looked pretty knackered in the last 20 mins or so and with big games against arsenal and Man Utd coming up I only hope our tiny squad can cope in the replay.
In answer to your question I think Moyes is still in a job as he has brought a great deal of stability to the club. We were a sinking ship when he took over, within 6 years and very little money he's taken us from relegation candidates to a team that has finishing 4th, 5th and 6th. I'm quite astonished you don't find this impressive. Maybe you should take off those rose tinted spectacles.
We strive all the time. But Everton isn't just a football club. We weren't manufactured so you just don't understand.
Plus in the last 30 years we've had the European Ban and refereeing handicaps you've dealt us. Thanks for that.
Needless to say I could go point by point, but like Benitez you'd never accept any criticism, you'd lie, sidestep and make out you're something you're not. So whats the point.
All I can say is that Everton and Goodison is far more the experience.
My final word is wait until The Everton Collection is online and on permanent display. You might want to come see your birth certificate. Maybe bring Rafa. He might also learn something?
Listen here you bitter pinkie, at least when we aim for 6th we make 6th, must mean you aim for 4th every year then eh?
Can someone please explain to me why on earth ANY Liverpool supporter would be bitter over a blue? I find that astonishing.
LOL I've heard it all now from Mark Reid. So because you had a semi-decent side during the European ban you blame us for the last 30 years??? I'm sorry, but I dont remember the ban lasting 30 years?!!! You cannot blame your failure to muster a decent side or your constant failure to win anything on others.
And to Cath, I refuse to accept from any 'big club' that injuries should prevent you from putting up a fight. Liverpool beat Manchester United this season without Gerrard and Torres. Stability is great though, but how long will you be happy for Moyes to keep you stable for without winning anything?
And to Blue (who also seems full of bitterness) - not at all, we aim to win it every year (unlike yourselves) but the difference is, for us to finish 4th is a disapointment, but the silver lining is a Champions league spot - you remember quaifying for that and celebrating like you'd won the League, FA Cup and Champions league right??? But its OK blue, if you really believe and really back your club, you may just scuff into the EUFA cup - but I highly doubt it.
On another note, Mark Reid, you go on about Everton and Goodison being more than just a club etc etc, but many other clubs are the same. We are a familly, and so are the likes of Newcastle. Newcastle get rid of their managers for constantly underachieving and for letting the supporters down - why has Moyes got away with doing nothing for so long? OK so he's bought stability - that was great 3 years ago but have you progressed since? You qualified for the Champions league (ONCE) and never built on it. Are you honestly telling me that you're all happy with that???
A semi-decent side during the european ban?? I thought Liverpool fans where suposed to be the most knowledgable in the game.
The point about Newcastle - ah yes, look how well they are doing with the constant chopping and changing of management. We did that a bit in the 90's, it doesn't work. Fans need to have a bit of patience - success doesn't come overnight. Why are you bothered about us keeping Moyes anyway? Concentrate on your own manager, and keep living off your European success - that was achieved how by the way? Oh thats right, some very defensive performances.
How typical of Steve to ignore the facts. Before the European ban we had more than over come you. We were champions.
Moyes is doing a good job and he is a wonderful human being. Former players have said how he extended their careers. Everton are a threat to your media-stranglehold. And in fear you lash out just like your manager.
That must have been hard too take Steve, 20 or so years of disapointment, poor bitter pinkie.
Cath - I'm sorry, but wasn't it you lot that was slating OUR manager? Hence why I mentioned yours.. And besides 'overnight' haha I'd hardly call years of being at the helm overnight. And how typical of an ignorent Blue, Since Rafa has been in charge we have won a damn sight more than the Champions League. We won by beating some of the biggest teams in Europe - didn't you get dumped out in the first round in your one attempt at the Champions league?
Blue - are you 10? Your comebacks are worse than a school kid.
20 years of bitterness? Yeah I'm really bitter about all those trophys we won.
Isnt that you, sitting at Goodison watching the silverwear pour into Anfield?
hahaha Steve...you sound as dumb and rude as Rafa.
