Does Everton not mean as much to you as it once did?
Does Everton not mean as much to you as it once did?
Cast your minds back to April, after beating Newcastle United on the last day of the season, there was a real optimisim about Everton and a real buzz about the place with hopefully a real crack of breaking into the top four this season.
This summer for the third time of asking the Everton's hierarchy have been left wanting when it comes to pushing the football club foward and left David Moyes having to lower his ambitions.
Are we ready to settle for this every season ?
After the debacle of this I was hoping we could do another "Season 04/05" were we achieved the unthinkable of 4th place finish with no major signings in the summer, but I suppose it's asking a bit too much of this current squad.
At the majority of games this season, I have just lost all appetite for getting behind the team - especially compared to seasons in the past.
Maybe it's the pathetic kick off times we have had thanks to SKY, only twice we have had a 3 o'clock game this season and only one more til January.
Something is going to crack in the Premiership soon with Liverpool swimming in a £300 million pound debt, Manchester United up to there eyeballs in the red, Arsenal losing money and having to sell their best players every season and Chelsea along with Manchester City murdering the beautiful game with their "we are richer than you" atitude.
I don't think I'm the only Evertonian out there that thinks this, in fact I think there are a lot of football fans up and down the country that think the same.
Apart from socialising on County Road with my mates before and after the game it's meaning nothing to me at the moment.
So what does the future hold for Everton football club and football in general?
Well it doesn't make good reading when Bill Kenwright has put the future of Everton FC in the hands of ex football league chairman Keith Harris.
Yes, this is the man who was responsible for the ITV Digital and Granada fiasco that nearly killed of lots of championship clubs in 2002.

This season hasn't been as good as we hoped for, but it still hurts like hell when we lose, so I suppose I do still care as much - but it is annoying sometimes that I can't stop caring
Get yourself to some away games Tony - you'll remember being an Evertonian is a state of mind, its about your fellow Evertonians and its about the people who follow the blues.
The negativity at Goodison isnt reflected at aways because rather than the civil strife over the stadium, the view at the games away is 'we are Everton and its us against you' rather than us against our own.
CORRECTION.
After last night's AWOL antics against the PieEaters.
DON'T BOTHER unless Moyesy drops one or tow players to put them back in their place.
EVERTON comes first.
I think that every fan who travelled to the JJB last night should be demanding their money back, and apart from Jagielka and Howard all the players should be made to hand over the money out of their own pockets in front of the media.I know we should be getting behind the team and all that but even the most biased of Evertonians must admit that that performance simply wasn't good enough and all those players should hang their heads in shame when they pick up their wages this week.Yakubu and Arteta need to be dropped and if i was the manager then i would have Pienaar in for Arteta any day of the week at the moment if and when he gets fit.Let them play in the reserves for a few games, the problem is they have no competition fot their places so no matter how bad they play they know they will be playing next week.
