Some Evertonians at the moment are a disgrace to the club.

By Tony Scott on Oct 6, 08 08:33 PM in Fans

I know every team has it's usual idiots that follow them but lately over the past few troubled weeks at Goodison Park Ive seen far too many.

A man who I have never seen before sat a couple of seats away from me in the Paddock on Sunday.
Howard Webb put the whislte to his lips at 4;00pm and this "so called" Evertonian's mouth was off.

"Osman your fu*@%kin Sh*"t", "Fellaini, you waste of space", and best of all, he ripped the back out of Leighton Baines who in my opinion was our best player on the day.

Tony Hibbert had the ball at his feet and this fella screamed " Hibbert , you T%*t go and f@ck off!

The Everton right -back must of been about 5 yards away from the shout and definately must of heard it.
No wonder some of the players are lacking in so much confidence.

As soon as Damien Duff made it 2-2 this guy got up at left the Staduim, I couldnt believe my eyes with a full 44 minutes left.

Dont get me wrong every fan has a moan and groan at every player cos that's what there entitled to do when they pay there money but you can encourage the team and get right behind them too.

Its not just that game that's got me annoyed it's other things like the attendance vs Standard Liege.

The Everton players smashed there points tally last season to get into this Uefa cup position at what happens, yes only 25,000 bother to turn up.

Another example again, when Torres scored the 2nd in the Merseyside Derby, Everton fans left the seats in there droves.

Are these the same fans that were having a go at the Liverpool fans for getting off early in the 3-0 Derby.

I spoke to a man today in work who must be in his late 40's and said "Thats it im not going no more, There sh%te"

This Evertonian has came out of Wembley twice after been beaten off Liverpool, He has seen us on the verge of relegation twice, He's watched us been battered off Liverpool 5-0 and only now thinks its time to pack in supporting us.

In my opinion Goodison Park is a far better place without all these negative fans.

There is so much pressure put on this team to do well at the moment because some Evertonians have one eye on what the team across Stanley Park are achieving so far.

The majority of Everton fans get behind the team every single week and do the famous club proud , but the mindless and gutless fans that are deserting Goodison at the moment are draging the club through mud and it hurts to watch it.

Sadly this type of fan is not restricted to our terraces. There are more and more of these feckless people infecting society and all our clubs. It's another symptom of a sick society

Sitting in the Paddock I know what you mean.

I have a paid-up member of the "Moyes-Out" brigade sat behind me, who at the Portsmouth game suddenly went from slatting Kenwright to slatting Moyes?

The ladies sat by me thought he was out of order and I do too.

You're there to support the team. Make constructive criticisms, not crucify the lads. If the latter is your thing - STAY HOME.

It's little things affecting us right now.

I also quote David Pleat's comments of yesterday, which partially applies to us at the moment as well regarding foreign players (or lack of having the "characters" in the team) and "having someone to roll their sleeves up when things aren't going well".

I saw some improvements in Everton with the return of Pienaar. We did lose concentration, partially due to fitness issues, with players coming back from injury.

But to those "fans" crucifying Everton right now, you have to ask: where has you're fight for the Everton-cause gone?

Yes we lack resources. Yes we could be doing better. But in football a TEAM can and should be better than the sum of it's parts.

But it can only do that with PROPER support.
Not cheap shots by our own from the stands.

Totally agree with all said. 2 Guys sit behind me every week, moan whether we win, lose or draw - it drives me mad. Before the match even started on Sunday they were hurling abuse at Fellaini saying he shouldn't even be on the pitch -they quietened down a bit when he scored!

I just wish that those who go to the match would go to support the team and the boo boys stay at home.

With regard to your comments on the Liege game - I think that is just the current financial climate taking a grip.

I don't agree with with what you are all saying, yes we should all be supporting the team but i can't believe for one minute that none of you have ever slagged a player off because they have been rubbish. The fans who are sitting there slagging the players have just as much right to do so as you have to support them, they pay the same money as the supporters so they are entitled to voice their opinion.Do you think that if we would have been cruising the games we have played this season that these fans would be slagging off the players? No, so why give them down the banks because the team is not performing to the standard that these fans expect the players know that they are not performing but there is nothing wrong with a few fans letting them know.

The point Tony makes is that some are using a poor run of form to crucify players.

Which is hardly inspiring them to glory is it Dave?

I've seen Baines do take downs and runs which were amazing. Why does he deserve abuse? His cross and work with Pienaar was excellent.

What you need when you're playing hard against a team is support, not some idiot wearing your colours shouting your "rubbish".

Its a fact, the difference between success and failure in the Premier League is tiny. Abuse rather than support from your own supporters will never bridge that small gap.

Particuarly when you hear moronic things like "Pienaar's not up to it" coming from the idiots like Tony Scott is highlighting.

The lad is just coming back from a broken toe! And he plays like that.

Anyway, you see the good Evertonians by the one's willing the players on. The one's shouting abuse generally just make themselves look silly.

Get a bloody grip. People paid good money to watch Everton like myself and look how the club have treated us! I bought my season ticket in April as we was promised all the players etc and that we would be up there with the best fighting it out for the best players then what? nothing at all. We are out of two cups and haven't won a game at home since last May! I dont walk out early in matches as I dont see the point but Everton don't deserve the support they are getting at the moment!
Also with regards to your critism of our fans over the Standard Liege home game maybe you can tell the greedy Everton board to not hike up prices just because Standard Liege had a good go at Liverpool?

Reflecting after the Match on Sunday I thought wouldn't it be nice to have Fortress Goodison again, on and off the Pitch.
In the Park End you would have been mistaken for thinking Newcastle were at home.
So the teams lost confidence, the Chairmans 'Past his sell by date' the manager on a downer!
But Life's rubbish at the moment.
At the match, I at least expected some 'Funny chants' or something to lift the gloom.
Why doesn't everyone give it some 'Wellie' and give the crowd and team something to smile about.
Surely in all the Pubs and Clubs someone can come up with a catchy chant or song, or does all the Wit belong somewhere else.
C'mon Lads and Lasses Nothing builds confidence like 'Team Spirit'.
At Goodison we're are all part of the Team
Get those thinking caps on 'Everton's got talent' Lets have a laugh and a song or two and get the Noise level -Pumping- again.

People should remember that there are CHILREN at these matches, would they shout these things at home in front of their own kids?

Also, if you wouldn't say it to their face then you shouldn't be shouting it at all. I bet if they did they'd be flat out on the floor, I certainly wouldn't stand for it.

dave weston said:

Dave Hughes you need to join the real world mate there have been kids at football matches for years and years and there has always been this behaviour people didn't shout your not playing very well today when you went the match as a kid with your old man no they swore at them so if you don't want kids to hear it the answer is simple don't take them. These players are paid astronomical wages to which the fans contribute towards so they are in my view entitled to a say. As for this saying it to their faces rubbish how many people sat and watched the Ricky Hatton/Mayweather fight and how many people said he was rubbish would you think they would get up and say it to his face?
