Moyes is back!
This summer has seen a different David Moyes, he just hasn't seemed the same.
He has not had that positive swagger about him, given very few interviews and has been somewhat subdued when speaking to the press and the fans. That all changed today........
Saying he is very hopeful of his new signings arriving soon, that he will sign his new contract and that he expects great things of his team next season has been music to fans' ears - and look what happened last night.
The are suggestions that Mr Wyness and Mr Moyes didn't exactly see eye to eye and it resulted in a 'me or him' ultimatum from Davey to Bill Kenwright. If this is true I am both very relieved and thankful the right choice was made. Despite the belief of some that Wyness leaving is a huge negative, maybe his presence has been the reason for this extremely frustrating summer on the transfer front - speaking from the 'toffee bag being half full' brigade I can see last night's shenanigans being of long term (and summer term) benefit to the blues.
There has been an underlying feeling this summer that something was rumbling behind the scenes, with a bit of luck it was Wyness wheeling his pay-off out of Goodison and into the Spanish sun.
As a side issue, if this great friend of Wyness had the cash to buy Mallorca then I would hope Wyness attempted to get this buddy of his on board with a good deal of invesment in the Blues? Another possible reason why he may have been pushed out of Walton past Kirkby and into the Giro queue?
The last 24 hours has hopefully banged a few heads together at Goodison and progress will be made on all possible transfer targets.
With a bit of luck it has also made the very very small number of misguided individuals who revel in the criticism of Moyes realise just where we would be if our hugely talented and patient manager decided to jump ship. The loss of Moyes would be felt for years whilst the employment and subsequent loss of Wyness has already been consigned to the rather large file of Goodison mishaps.
