Hitting my peak again
I have well and truly been in a trough this summer - at one point I was even enjoying not having to worry about the blues, the constant worry and anxiety had taken a welcome holiday from my life. I started to really concern myself when I was thinking that life without Everton was much easier and much less of a chore.
The trough lasted about a day before the worry crept back in (It is a typical Evertonian trait when we consider the lack of worry a 'trough').
Why weren't we signing anyone at all? Why hasn't the ground move been sorted? Why has Moyes not signed on again? How are we going to field a team against Blackburn with 12 players in our squad? Why hasn't my season ticket arrived yet? Why is Robbie Keane joining the Spanish B team? Why haven't we welcomed Fernandes for a third and final time?
Whilst many of the concerns are interweaved - specificaly the ground move and money for transfers, despite the official line - I was now praying for at least a bit of blue sky both metaphorically and meteorically.
It seems both situations have taken a turn for the better over the last few days.
Watching young Jose slot away his first senior goal into the top corner certainly pushed me back towards a peak in my Evertonianhood. The continued improvement of Gosling and Jutkiewicz made the Forest clash a very beneficial game for the youngsters themselves and also Mr Moyes who must have been comforted by his young team's tidy display.
The news today though has actually started to make me sit up, brush myself down and start to think confidently about the new season.

Apparently Moutinho wants to join our revolution. All that seems to be in the way is a small £18 million fee - one which we can surely cover by a bit of wheeler dealing together with money gleaned from TV, AJ and past transfer (Faddy) profits. This 21 year old will be the strong signal of intent the board need to show both the Everton fans and our rivals throughout Europe - quite how we will then be able to scrape enough money for the 4/5 more signings Moyes craves I am not sure, a few Moyes bargain superstars a la Lescott will need to be discovered.
If we can pull this coup off I ask for only 2 more things to well and truly plant me back at the top of my peak.
Firstly can someone at the box office please pull their finger out of wherever it is and send me my season ticket? I did my part and renewed ridiculously early, all I ask is for it to arrive in time for me to see our first game of the season.
My second wish is to see another young Portugese (potentially) world star to come home. Seeing a midfield trio of Arteta, Fernandes and Moutinho line up against Blackburn would get blue hearts racing. Mr Moyes and Mr Kenwright please make it happen. I am sure many blues would happily see a severe downturn in the meteorical situation if this happens, we know only too well we can't have everything.
